Mark Brady Obituary

Mark A. Brady, 60, passed away after a year-long battle with neuroendocrine cancer surrounded by his family on the morning of July 2, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Erica Eastman Brady, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. Born and raised in Scituate, he was the son of the late John Y. and Lorraine (Doyle) Brady, brother to Beth Cunningham, Diane Kelleher and the late John Y Brady II and Debra Hoffman. He was a graduate of Scituate High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from University of New Hampshire, where he played college football. As co-owner of John Y. Brady Deputy Collector, he has worked in the family business since 1987. He was a long time, very involved and dedicated member of the Scituate Knights of Columbus, joining as a high school student and remaining active for his entire life. He ran the annual K of C Carnival and served on both the pool committee and the charity committee. He was a past Grand Knight and served on the St. Patrick's Day parade committee and supported Scituate Community Christmas. Mark was known for his sense of humor, knack for storytelling and his uncanny ability to quote a movie | his favorite being "Its a Wonderful Life". He had a soft spot for black and white films and opera music. He was a passionate Patriots fan and held season tickets for much of his adult life. He was a dedicated and proud dad to Shannon (27) Christian (24) Dylan (22) and family dog Pedro. He was ever present at their sporting events and major milestones and coached many of their sports team including SciCoh football and Scituate little league. He was a wonderful host and very thoughtfully planned events and family parties, leaving no detail forgotten. He was the life of the party and the center of the family and will be missed every day. Visiting hours Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. Funeral Mass Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. So sad to hear about Mark. I've known the family since I can remember, bought my first car from his sister, and enjoyed seeing him at the Knight's events.
