I met your Dad at the Brigham, he and I did treatments together early in the morning. It might sound strange but I looked forward to seing him each day, he made it easy. On my last day we had a great talk and he surprised me a bunch of times calling me at the Courthouse, to check up on me. I did not know he died, I would have paid my respects to my new friend. I know I am not telling you anything about him, but he was a great inspiration to me. Rich A. Somerville

Mickey and Johnny,
I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad. I have a lot of great memories of him, from blowing off fireworks on the 4th of July to taking us on golf ball hunts at Ponky. I'm also pretty sure he gave me my first golf club. He was always a strict but kind presence in the neighborhood. Please pass my condolences to Kevin, Eddie and David as well.

Mike, Jack, Kevin, Ed and David:
I have met most of you through Patriots games or golf with your dad. As a young attorney, your dad taught me the ropes in Quincy District Court. I returned from a family vacation last night and just learned about your dad's passing. Needless to say I regret not being able to pay my respects. Our lives are murals of the people we touch and those who touch us. Because of your dad, I am a better attorney and a better person. Every day in court your dad dealt with criminal defendants, many of whom were looked down upon because of their misgivings. Your dad treated them with respect and dignity. He was a great clerk. I regret not seeing your dad before he passed and to let him know how much he meant to me. He was so proud of all of you and loved his boys so much. Tonight I will shed a tear for your dad and say a prayer for all of you. However the next time I am at the Pats game, I will have a whitey (only one this time) in a Tupperware bowl and raise a toast to America's Guest.

Mike was a special man that I grew to know well and admire more. He was a "giver", who always said "Thank you" and he played his favorite game till the very end---even when their were no more clubs in his bag!
I'll miss him, but won't forget him. Dr. O'Brien.

Dad was a Superman, always made me feel safe as a child and strong as a man.
Today as a Dad myself, I look towards his example, his teaching and love to be a strong father for my children.
