Richard W. Boyd

Richard "Dick" W. Boyd, age 70, entered into eternal life on May 11, 2016. Dick was a lifelong Weymouth resident. He graduated from Weymouth High School and attended Northeastern University. Mr. Boyd was a decorated Vietnam veteran and received the Purple Heart. He served in the U.S. Marines. Mr. Boyd was a Massachusetts State Trooper for many years. Dick belonged to the V.F.W. Post 1399 in Weymouth. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was the beloved husband of Arleen N. (Wight); devoted father of Melissa Boyd of Jamaica Plain, Kristin Leonard of Weymouth, Kimberley Leonard of Weymouth and the late Michael Boyd; loving grandfather of Imaya Leonard; son of the late John and Gertrude Boyd. Memorial visiting hours at the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth, Saturday, May 14, from 2 until 5 p.m. followed by a service at 5:15 p.m. Reverend Barbara Dingwall-Mills will officiate.
