Richard L. Sheaff

Quincy Richard L. Sheaff, formerly of Wakefield, April 17, 2008. At the age of 86 years. Richard past away at the Quincy Medical Center on Thursday. Born in Portland, Maine, he moved to Wakefield at the age of 12 where he was raised and educated. He was a graduate of Wakefield High School. From high school he entered the Navy during W.W. II. After his naval service he took many courses at M.I.T. In 1948 he moved with his wife to Quincy. He is a member of the Rural Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Quincy. Richard worked for over 36 years at M.I.T. as a Test Engineer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Harriet S. (Sears) Sheaff. Five loving children Carolyn L. Casey of NC., Kenneth D. Sheaff and his wife Christine of PA, Beverly A. Norton of Pembroke, Linda J. Houlihan and her husband Frank of Mashpee and Sandra J. Breslin and her husband Matthew of Stoughton. Twelve devoted grandchildren Michael, Heather, Matthew, James, Andrew, Robert, Hillary, Liza, Patra, Jason, Alexandra and Matthew and two loving great-grandchildren Haley and Richard. Visiting hours will be held in the DEWARE Funeral Home 576 Hancock Street WOLLASTON on Saturday April 19th from 2-4 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. A Burial Service will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in Mr. Sheaffs memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of MA 101A First Ave, Suite 6 Waltham, MA 02451.
