Richard F. Thurston, 63, of Boston, passed away on July 24, 2021, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, after a serious illness. Born in Boston, on July 21, 1958, he was the son of the late Catherine M. (Shanahan) Thurston and Richard G. Thurston. The first-born son, he leaves behind his brothers, Patrick S. and Christopher Thurston, and sister, Kathleen Ewell; his nephew, Nicholas P.; and nieces, Victoria L., Hannah J., and Hope C. Thurston. He also leaves behind his beloved kitten, Eddie, to be cared for by close friends. Rick will be remembered for his quick wit and being a loving and generous son, brother, and uncle, who never forgot a special occasion in his family and friend's lives. The family would like to thank his team for all their efforts and care they gave him. The family will miss his kindness, compassion, and thoughtfulness; he was a true gentleman. Visitation will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Route 53, Hanover on Friday from 10 am - 12 pm, followed by a service in the funeral home starting at 12 pm.
