Robert F. Wahlberg

Robert F. Bugga Wahlberg, age 57, died Monday, May 16, 2016, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from complications of pneumonia, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Boston, raised and educated in Quincy schools and was a graduate of Quincy Vocational Technical School, Class of 1978. He was a lifelong Quincy resident. He was a pipefitter and a proud thirty year member of the Pipefitters Union Local 537. Robert was a talented amateur boxer and was the 1978 New England Golden Gloves Champion. He was devoted to his family and friends. Beloved husband for twenty-four years of Jean M. (Sweeney) Wahlberg, he was the devoted father of Arthur F. Wahlberg, Thomas B. Wahlberg, Bridget E. Wahlberg and Francis R. Frankie Wahlberg all of Quincy; cherished son of Rosemary C. (McGrory) and Arthur S. Archie Wahlberg of Quincy; dear brother of Christine Vincent and her husband Robert of Mashpee, Paul Wahlberg and his wife Donna of Milton, Janice Radzik of Quincy, Rosemary Gilbody and her husband Robert, Captain, Q.F.D. of Quincy, Eugene Wahlberg and his wife Susan of Weymouth, Daniel Wahlberg and his wife Kelly of Milton, the late Karen Wahlberg and John Wahlberg. Robert is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Saturday, May 21, at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Anns Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy at 9 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Friday from 4:30-8 p.m. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery in West Quincy.
