Stephen P. Shaw

1950 - 2016

Stephen P. Shaw, of Newburyport, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 20. Steve, 65, was diagnosed one year ago with ALS and heroically battled this relentless and depilating disease. Steve, was born in Leominster, Mass., on April 25, 1950, and was the son of Arthur and Pauline (Cote) Shaw who predeceased him. He recently retired after 28 years of dedicated service from Southern New Hampshire Medical Center where he was employed as director of Engineering and Biomedical Services. Steve graduated from Quincy high school and then went on to receive his degree in Architecture and Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Steve was an avid golfer and recently mastered his personal goal of reaching a handicap of 10. He also enjoyed skiing and extensive traveling with his wife, family and friends. Steve is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 26 years Donna. M. (Cook) Shaw, His children, Kristin Eldridge and her husband Charles, Karyn Masse and her husband Edward, Stephen Shaw, George Haseltine and his wife Lyndsey, and Andrew Haseltine and his wife, Karina. Grandchildren: Trevor, Edward, Victoria, Andrew, Graeme, Diego and Lyla. Siblings: Arthur J. Shaw and his wife Marie, Cindy Wingo, Donna Keenan and her husband Mark. Steves funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private at a later date.
