Theresa Gale-Stella Obituary

Theresa J. Terry (Buscherfeld) Gale-Stella, age 79, formerly of Quincy, went home to the Lord, unexpectedly on Friday, July 22, 2016. Terry was born in Rodman, IA on January 13, 1937 to the late Anthony and Anna (Elbert) Buscherfeld. She was raised in Whittemore, IA and enlisted in the United States Navy on August 27, 1956. She was a Vietnam Era veteran and served as a HM/3 at the United States Naval Hospital Chelsea. She later became a licensed practical nurse and worked for twenty-seven years at the former Quincy Medical Center. She also worked at various local nursing facilities. She had lived in Braintree since 1996 and previously in Quincy for thirty-four years. Terry was a woman of faith and a longtime parishioner of Saint John the Baptist Church in Quincy. She was an active volunteer participating as a senior altar server, altar decorator, making baptismal bibs and assisting with countless other duties. She enjoyed attending adoration on Fridays. Terry also enjoyed sewing and reading and was devoted to her family. Beloved wife of the late Francis A. Frank Stella. Devoted mother of Russell R. Gale and his wife Debbie of South Berwick, ME, Jeffrey A. Gale and his wife Pamela of Bridgewater. Stepmother of Robert F. Stella of Weymouth, Susan Stella-Meili of Shreveport, LA, and Elizabeth Stella-Ford and her husband Christopher of Plymouth. Cherished grandmother of six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One of nine siblings, Terry was sister of Kathryn Spurgeon of Otho, IA, Imelda Goman of Carlsbad, NM, John Buscherfeld of Quincy and pre-deceased by Margaret Lewis, Evelyn Donner, Edward and James Buscherfeld and infant Mary Magdalene. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Monday, July 25th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 | 5 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Word's can't come close to how I feel about terry my best friend, The blessed Mother put her in my life in 1990 she was instrumental in my spiritual awakening.we talked at night after we got out of work , I have never had a best friend unit this sweet wonderful women,whom I love with all my heart.I know she is where she wanted to be. God bless you terry until we meet again I love you...Debbie.

Theresa was a true treasure ... one of the nicest people I have ever known!!! Her sunny disposition, pleasant greeting and willingness to initiate and participate in all the church programs and activities will be sadly missed by everyone at St John the Baptist Church.
May God receive and rest her soul .. till we meet again!!!!
