William E. Newell, age 80, a lifelong Weymouth resident who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 3, 2021. Bill graduated Weymouth High School in 1959. He married his beloved wife, Joan, in 1960 and they settled together in S. Weymouth where they started a family. Bill and Joan spent winters in Maui for over 20 years and had a house in Sutton, NH for 50 years. He is the loving father of James Newell of NH, Jacqueline D'Olimpia of Mattapoisett, Laurie DeMarco and her husband John of Rockland, and the late Billy Newell, cherished grandfather to Melinda, Alicia, Brian, Billy, Jillian, Nicholas, Samantha, and Jessica, and his eight great-grandchildren. Our hearts are saddened by Bill´s sudden passing. We will miss seeing his always cheerful smile. We loved him so much. Maui will not be the same without him there. We always planned our time ar Kahana Sunset to be there during Bil and Joan´s time.

Joan and family, my heart hurts to hear of Bill´s passing. He was a good, kind, and compassionate boss and friend while I worked with him at Automatic Sprinkler in Weymouth. My only regret is that we didn´t have a chance to catch up before he passed. I remember him telling me he had to hire me because my birthday was the same as Joan´s hahaha. He was a good man and I will always remember him and his great sense of humor fondly. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time
