Adolphus Moore Obituary

JONESVILE, SC-- Adolphus Doc Moore, Sr., 84, of 115 Oak Street, Jonesville, husband of Jessie Lillian Jetter Moore, died on October 18, 2006, at his home after a long illness.Mr. Moore was born in Union County on April 16, 1922, a son of the late Hardy and Queen E. Foster Moore. He joined Bethany Baptist Church and served as a deacon, chairman of the Trustee Board and president of the True Gospel Choir. He worked at Bell Music Company in Spartanburg and was self-employed with Moores Music Machine Company. He was a U. S. Army Veteran having served in World War Two. He was also a taxi cab driver and a former member of Foster Chapel Masonic Lodge #460.Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Brenda G. Rice of Union; one son, Adolphus Sonny Moore, Jr. of Jonesville; another daughter, Stephanye (Tino) Sullivan of Simpsonville, SC; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 23, 2006, at the Bethany Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. David S. Moore and Rev. Earl N. Alexander officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church on Monday to await the hour of service.The family is at the home, 115 Oak Street, Jonesville.The Carolina Mortuary has charge of the arrangements.Paid Funeral Notice
