Cowpens - Elvena Jefferies Hollis, 87, of 130 Huff Road, Cowpens, passed away on Friday, July 30, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Widow of Roosevelt J. Hollis, she was born in Cherokee County and was the daughter of the late Iola Jefferies.

She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church in Cowpens where she served as an usher, member of the Victory Choir, Gospel Choir, Senior Missionaries, and Sunday School Adult Class. She was a retired employee of Hamricks Industries.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elvena was predeceased two daughters, Angela and Gloria Hollis; two siblings, J.C. Jefferies and Horace Dover. Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Hollis, of Cowpens, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 6, 2021 at The Gilmore Mortuary, Gaffney, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 7th, 1:00 p.m. in Island Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Timothy L. Hunter, officiating. Interment will be in Island Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of her daughter at 257 Battleground Road, Cowpens, SC, 29330.
