Gary Scruggs Obituary
COWPENS, SC-- Gary Dean Scruggs, Sr., 70, of Cowpens, SC, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at his home. Born December 29, 1947 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Dollie Inez Scruggs and husband of the late Anna Elisabeth Williams Scruggs.
Mr. Scruggs was a former employee of Best Machinery and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. He loved to restore old cars and going fishing.
Survivors include his son, Gary Scruggs Jr. of Cowpens, SC; daughter, Stacey Scruggs of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Brittney Hardgrave, Todd Scruggs, Lacey Elisabeth Parsons and Adam Scruggs; great-grandchildren, Bella, Hayden, Nate, Anna, Mason, Cayden and Maddie; sisters, Norma Nicholas of Clifton, SC, Sylvia Deaton, Teresa Walden both of Converse, SC and Rena Fenner of Gaffney, SC and Brother Terry Scruggs of Spartanburg, SC.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 10, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Oakdale Baptist Church by the Rev. Mike Stubblefield. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330.
Memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church Children's Program, 231 OakDale Rd., Cowpens, SC 29330.
