GREER, SC-- James Thomas Horne, 71, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Alpha Health and Rehab.
A native of Chesterfield, SC, son of the late James Thomas Jenkins and Maebelle Oliver, he was a retired employee of Guy M. Beaty, Inc. and a Christian of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Dunlap Horne of the home; five daughters, Angela French (Michael) of Sulphur, LA, Hope Davis (Paul) of Williamston, Kimberly Jones (Derek) of Williamston, Debbie Parham and Renee Ray both of Asheville, NC; four sons, Doyle Horne and Gregory Horne both of Asheville, NC, Jeffrey Horne (Rachel) of Landrum, and Robert Horne of Charlotte, NC; five brothers, David Price, Ricky Timmons, Nelson Price, Jerry Price, and Larry Horne; eight sisters, Susan Price, Libby King, Bonnie Freeze, Gail Pinyan, Brenda Cox, Lucille Clark, Kathy Keith, and Dorothy Mills; twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Horne was predeceased by one brother, William Jenkins; and five sisters, Daisy Mills, Ola Holloway, Gladys Pittman, Ella Pittman, and Myrtle Herring.
Graveside services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21st at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, conducted by Rev. Keith Kelly.
Visitation will be held 2:00-3:30 p.m. Sunday at The Wood Mortuary.
