TAYLORS, SC-- LaRue Elder Campbell, 67, of 251 Wansley Road, died Monday, May 24, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Hospital and is now at rest with Jesus Christ her Savior.
A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Deloy and Hazel Hammond Elder, she was a member of Washington Baptist Church.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. We will forever remember her beautiful smile and loving heart and the lessons she taught us. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Vance Wade Campbell of the home; two daughters, Lisa Horton and Becky Lynn (Jeffrey), all of Greer; a brother, Rev. Ray Elder (Norma) of Ridgeland; two sisters, Sheryl Elder of Wellford and Penny Grant (Danny) of Drayton; six grandchildren, Ashley Horton, Zachary Horton, Daniel Campbell, Hannah Campbell, Justin Lynn, and Lauren Lynn; and a daughter-in-law, Wendy Campbell Herren of Mauldin.
Mrs. Campbell was predeceased by a son, David Campbell.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Drew Hines and Rev. Joe Price. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Honorary escort will be the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary.
