Just found out today that you are gone and I am sad. Will miss that wicked sense of humor and remember you every time I knit with purple yarn. Will remember Northwoods and our knitting retreat at Amy's in Saluda....hope you are knitting with the angels.

Tammy loved to miter silken yarns into little squares, knitting them and other geometrics into socks, gloves, hats, and so many other wonderful things. She was a student in my first ever Sock Basics class, when I still taught at Northwoods in Campobello, before opening Kniticality. For years, Tammy and I learned and laughed together...her eyes would cross when she squinted at her knitting, and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't capture that expression on my camera! Tammy! Everything you knitted wound up on your head, hat or not: a convenient resting place when no table was handy. I close my eyes and I can see you in your recliner, a cat draped across your lap, the glow of a computer screen alight in your dear face, knitting something purple. Goodbye my friend.

I was saddened by the news Tammy had left us. We never met in person, but met online in 2003. Knowing her love of animals, I suggested she organize a weekly blog meme on dogs. She did, and kept it going for quite a while. I can picture a gang of critters meeting her at the rainbow bridge.
