Helen Frances Yates Lewis, 96

A Louisville resident, formerly of Spencer County, Mrs. Helen Frances Yates Lewis, age 96, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at Sanders Ridge Health Campus in Mt. Washington. She was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Taylorsville to the late Walter and Lizzie Reinle Yates. Mrs. Lewis was a long-time member of Summit Heights United Methodist Church where she also worked in the Summit Heights Parents Out Program. She enjoyed gardening, was an excellent seamstress and was the ultimate servant to the Lord and everyone in her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thomas Lewis and three brothers, Paul, JB and Wilbur Yates.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Patricia "Sam") Lewis of Mt. Washington; two grandchildren, James Thomas Lewis of Louisville and Kristen Michelle Lewis of Erlanger; and three nephews and two nieces.
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Frances Yates Lewis will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12-4 p.m. and Monday after 9 a.m. until the time of service.
