Amy HAASE Obituary

Amy passed away peacefully on July 10th, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Dan, Madeline, Jackie, and Janice were at her side. Amy was born December 30th, 1971, to Rick and Jackie (Winkler) Kemper in St. Paul, MN. Amy grew up across the river from Stillwater, MN, in Houlton, WI. She attended Houlton Elementary School and graduated high school from Mounds Park Academy in St. Paul in 1990. She attended the University of Arizona and St. Thomas University, earning a BA degree in Journalism and Public Relations with a Minor in Business Management. Amy established many lifetime friendships during her college years as she worked as a server at the dog track and Sunsets restaurant in Hudson, WI. Amy and Dan Haase were married in Stillwater, on February 26th, 2000, after meeting on a blind date. They resided on a hobby farm outside of Roberts, WI, before moving to Woodbury, MN, in 2008. Their marriage was blessed with a beautiful daughter Madeline Grace in 2002. Amy's career in marketing included work at Rapp Collins, Mari Mi Inc., Logic Bay, Imation, Carmichael Lynch, Go East Design, and 3M. Amy also served on the Mounds Park Academy board of directors as an alumni representative in 1991. She formed many life-long friendships along the way as a wonderful co-worker. Amy had a fondness for fireworks and hot air balloons. She and her family regularly attended Fourth of July fireworks, Lumberjack Days, and the Hot Air Affair in Stillwater and Hudson. Another lifelong tradition for Amy was her attendance at the Minnesota State Fair, only missing one year due to COVID-19. A favorite hobby of Amy's was gardening: planting flowers, plants, and herbs. In addition, she enjoyed cooking and baking especially with her daughter and mother. Amy loved pets throughout the years including many cats, dogs, and chickens. Amy dedicated many hours to planning the perfect holidays and birthday celebrations for our family, leaving us with phenomenal memories. However, Amy's greatest love was spending time with her family and entertaining friends on the St. Croix River. As a lifelong boater, Amy spent many summers with family and friends on the river. She thought of the river as her second home and loved to call herself a "St. Croix Girl." Amy was the best wife, mother, daughter, and friend anyone could ask for. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 22 years, Dan, daughter Madeline, mother Jackie Kemper, aunt Janice Baratta, cousin Mark Baratta, and uncle Bruce Kemper. As well as other loving family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Rick Kemper May 20th, 2017, her grandmother June Winkler May 12th, 2017, and her grandfather, John Winkler June 24th, 2006. A celebration of Amy's life will be Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 6:00 P.M. with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 5:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater. 651-439-5511
