Andrew ALLEN Obituary

Andrew Tyler Allen was born on October 2, 1981 (on his maternal great-grandmother's birthday), in Kalispell, Montana. He lived there until 1983 moving to Centralia, Washington, and then residing in Spokane, Washington from 1985 until his passing. Andrew attended the West Valley School District from first grade through high school graduating in 2000. During his early grade school years and on into early high school, Andrew actively participated in basketball and soccer, both in school and on select teams. He was a lover of music and took piano lessons for nine years. Upon graduation, Andrew attended the University of Montana (Go Griz!) and the Community Colleges of Spokane. Andrew was employed by the United Parcel Service (UPS) for over 19 years.

Andrew was a passionate Gonzaga basketball fan using vacation annually to watch the NCAA tournaments. Further, he was a lifelong avid reader, loved to collect novels, and read at the family's Sandpoint lake home overlooking Lake Pend O'Reille. He was fond of card games and would likely not turn down a rousing game of cribbage. He was also a foodie at heart enjoying gourmet food and the experience of trying new cuisines. Andrew had a gentle soul especially with a fondness for animals. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Patty Allen; 2 sisters, Jamie (Andrew) Dolan and Allie (Tyler) Dobler; a niece, Finley, and 2 nephews, Rory and Tatum (whom he dearly loved). Andrew died at home with his final resting being in rural central Montana near his extended Tyler and Allen family.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley. Following the service, the family will host a reception at 4:00 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge at CenterPlace Regional Event Center, 2426 N Discovery Place, Spokane Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to a local library or the Spokane Humane Society.
