So sorry to hear this, thoughts and Prayers to the Getter family.
I met the Getters when my father Ralph Brant started when Getter Trucking was across from fair grounds in Billings, then the built the new shop on frontage road in Lockwood. I remember Dad hauling parts to a cocker plant with a specially built trailer where the driver sat between the rear trailer axels and steered , from Calgaty Alberta Canada to Rawlings Wyoming with a top speed of if lucky 18 miles per hour during day light hours only down ,maybe 100 miles a day. They come down Zimmerman trail to avoid power lines in the Heights, it took 4 weeks to make the trip.It was one of the longest and heaviest loads of that time ,118 feet long and and weight 180,000 pounds, I wanna say 1976 made front page of the Billing Gazette, also remember Dad hauling a hydro generator up to yellow tail damone two truck one drove toward while the other drove in reverse. Had to do it that way so the weight of generator was power 4 trailer axels. I remember the Getter boys well and have great memories with dad at the shop in Billings , Roundup, Bill Fisher, Turla, Gary Badovenus Vern Wanner are a few old driver that drove for Getter Trucking.
May the Getter family make it though the sad times and remember all the great people that made Getter Trucking one of the safest and best heaving hauling company's in mid west and north west of the lower 48.
I have down loaded a photo of my Dad and his red and white K W wench truck in our drive was in Billings. First truck was blue and white
K W when the shop was across from fair grounds.
Sorry for the book , I just wanted to share a couple of my many memories of Getter Trucking and the wonderful Getter family and The great people that made up one of the best heavy oil field equipment hauling company's thank you and God bless.

After doing much research on ancestry my grandmother (Martha Tierney Spurrier 85) and I, found out that she and Bruce were cousins. Her grandmother was Josie Getter "Bruce's aunt" and we were able to get in touch with Bruce. It was a very exciting moment for them both and I was touched as well. He had even talked about making a trip to visit. It was like an unsolved mysteries episode update. They had talked about connecting and learning more about family. We are just now finding out about his passing but have tried calling him numerous times. We are really sorry to hear of his passing. We would really like to connect with more of our family - If any of his surviving family members would like to get in touch with us I "Chris Spurrier" can be reached at 828 230 2699. We would love to communicate with family that we have not known.

We are sorry of hearing of Bruce's passing. We have been friends of Bruce and the Getter family since we were kids. Bill worked with Bruce for many years and said he was a hard worker and great to work with. Bruce has been a great life long family friend. We will miss seeing him each summer when we come to Montana. He always had a smile and loved to tell jokes. Sometimes he would laugh harder than anyone else. He was a great guy and super friend and will be missed.

My best memories of Bruce are from the late 1970"s when he would come to North Dakota to help us move rigs. Quiet, unassuming and just a good guy to work with...
