Charlene BRICKEY Obituary

May 18, 1945 - August 31, 2025

Spokane Valley - In Loving Memory of Charlene "Bunny" K. Brickey (Leavey).

May 18, 1945 - August 31, 2025.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Charlene "Bunny" K. Brickey (Leavey). On August 31, 2025, the Lord wrapped His arms around Charlene and welcomed her home.

Charlene was born on May 18, 1945, in Spokane, Washington, to Charles and Lenore Leavey. A lifelong resident of Spokane, she graduated from East Valley High School. Over the years, she held various jobs before marrying Milton Werre in 1964, with whom she raised six children. Later, she spent more than 20 years working at Key Tronic Corporation, where she formed many cherished, lifelong friendships. Charlene had a zest for life and a deep love for her family. She enjoyed playing cards and dice games, camping, attending Bingo nights, and trips to the casino. She especially treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. Charlene was an avid fan of the Cooking Channel and Survivor, and she loved doing puzzles and crafts with her daughters.

Christmas was her favorite time of year. One of her most cherished traditions was recalling a funny or memorable moment for each family member and reading them aloud on Christmas Eve - a tradition that brought so much joy and laughter to us all. Charlene was truly the kindest, most generous person you could meet. Her warmth, humor, and loving spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her brother, Richard (Mary) Leavey; her children: Charles Werre, Larry (Tina) Werre, Tina (Darin) Haberkorn, Tamie Schultz, Tawnya Werre, and Tara (Craig) Gilbert; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Randolph "Doc" Brickey; her parents, Charles and Lenore Leavey; her siblings Douglas Leavey, Margery, and Colleen; and her daughter-in-law, Lisa Werre.

Charlene will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will live on in each of us forever.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Heritage Funeral and Cremation for their compassionate care of their beloved mother.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Valley Real Life, located at 1831 S Barker Rd., Greenacres, WA 99016. A reception will follow the service.

I will miss you so very much auntie, not being able to call you up anytime just to yak about anything or to ask how everyone is doing, because you were the rock in this family, everyone came to you for advice or just to talk things out, I will miss that. I´m sure you will keep an eye out on us from up there. Say hi to Doc. Love you
