Cheryl HILZENDEGER Obituary

Cheryl Marie Hilzendeger passed away on July 9, 2021 in her home in Ritzville, Washington. Cheryl was born January 14, 1945 in Marysville, CA to William and Bonnie Hayes. She attended St. Aloysius Elementary School and graduated from Holy Names Academy. She went on to Kinman Business School and then started work at Sacred Heart Hospital in Data Processing. Cheryl married Gary Corkins in 1965, had three children, Karri Olson, Troy (Miriam)) Corkins, Jodie (Jim) Awbery. After divorcing Gary, she met Peter James Hilzendeger and after several years they married. Pete and Cheryl worker together in construction for over 27 years. Upon retiring they traveled parts of the United States but fell in love with Texas. When Pete's health started to fail they moved back to the Spokane area and settled in Ritzville. Cheryl enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and crocheting and reading. Cheryl had five brothers and sisters: Lorraine, Bill (Renee), Tom (Denise), Theresa and a sister Bonnie Jean who passed away. Also surviving are step son Jason (Sandy); nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Pete and her parents.
