Chester BOTHUN

1922 - 2022

Chester L Bothun passed away at 100 on July 21st, 2022.

Chester was born on January 18, 1922, in Crosby, ND to parents Ulrick and Signa Bothun. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps during World WWII. He then served in the Air Force through the Korean War. He was an airplane and engine mechanic and a 747-crew chief. He attended the University of California/Berkeley where he studied Aviation Technology. While in California he worked and studied at Lockheed Martin. Unfortunately, an accident in his ear left him unable to do the job he loved.

A resident of Spokane for over 60 years, he accepted a position as a Customer Relations Manager at Foothills Lincoln Mercury Mazda where he worked for more than 32 years. Chester enjoyed spending time with his friends at the American Legion, Vernon J Baker post 241, and watching NASCAR. Friends and family will always remember him as a caring, understanding, and patient person Chester married Grace Bothun in 1969 and the couple had one child together

Chester is survived by his daughter Stacey Bothun, stepson Mike Mayles and two grandchildren Alex and Ethan Baxter. He is preceded in death by his wife Grace Bothun (2000).

Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:30 at Heritage Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chester Bothun's life.
