Daniel LAPKE Obituary

(Age 55)

Dan Lapke, who considered nearly everyone he met his friend, made his transition on June 12th after a tremendous battle with cancer.

He was born December 23, 1965 to Aggi and Leo Lapke of Walla Walla, WA. After graduating from Desales High School, he attended and played football at Carroll College. He also attended SFCC, and EWU. It was during his time in Spokane where he met and married his wife, Cristy. Together they raised two children, Sterling and Allie.

Dan worked in many capacities at UPS over the last 20 years with the most recent driving semi trucks.

He was always quick to joke and make you laugh and would help anyone in need. He shared his positivity with all he encountered.

Dan was always ready for an adventure from bungee jumping to whitewater rafting and riding the bull, to jumping out of a "perfectly good airplane." He loved all sports and was an avid Seahawks fan before it was popular and loved to hit the golf courses any chance he could.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years Cristy; son Sterling Lapke; daughter Allie Lapke; parents Aggi and Leo Lapke; siblings Theresa (Rick), Ann (John), Alicia (Wade), Cyndie, Bill (Maddie), Rachael (Rob), Anthony (Jen) and many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Dan.

In honor of Dan, a Mass will take place at Our Lady of Fatima (3327 S. Perry) July 1st at 11:00 am with a celebration to follow. Please feel free to dress for fun (and ditch the black) in the true spirit of Dan. He would want a party.
