Daniel WALSH Obituary

WALSH, Daniel M. Daniel M Walsh was born on May 20, 1945 in Butte, Montana. He passed into the arms of Jesus on November 18, 2018 after a valiant four year battle with stomach cancer. He was a respected employee of Avista Corp. for 26 years. During his middle years he was an avid runner and participated in many marathons. The running of the 100th Boston Marathon and the New York Marathon were two of 20 or more marathons that he ran. After his retirement 10 years ago, he helped found the Serve Spokane Food Pantry. He and his wife were the directors of the Food Pantry for five years. Dan loved his church family at Cedonia Community Church. At his request, please send any memorial donations to Cedonia Community Church Building Fund, Hunters, Washington. He is survived by his wife Joyce; step-son Craig Dowdy (Melody); two grandchildren (Alisha and Parker); sister Judi McGovern (Jim); brother Rick (Sandy) and niece Rhonda Hritsco whom he raised with his first wife, Dorothy, and many other nephews, nieces, and cousins too numerous to name. There will be a memorial service for the family in the spring.

To the Walsh family, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I never worked directly with Dan, but regularly passed him in the hallways at Avista. He always said hello and shared a big smile. What a great guy.

Joyce,
So deeply sorry for your loss. I worked with Dan at Avista for many years. He was a kind and gentle soul. My warmest thoughts and prayers. Terry Syms
