David Milton Knobloch, 78, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, in Spokane. He was born on January 17, 1947, in Winfield, KS, the son of Edgar M. and Dorothy Jane (Calonder) Knobloch.
David graduated from Larned High School in Larned, KS, Class of 1965. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Airforce as a fire-fighter in Germany and England. Upon returning from Europe, he moved to Montana, eventually settling in Spokane, where he worked in grocery management. After years of planning, David and wife Brenda proudly established the popular Top Hat Pub on Division St. in 1991, where weekend liquor sales consistently ran first in volume in the entire city.
Through his ownership and operation of the Top Hat, David shared his leadership talents coordinating with other Division St. businesses in the organization of festivities such as the well-known "Block Parties." His successful operation of the Top Hat also led him to know thousands of people, forging lasting friendships with a host of Spokane business leaders in housebuilding and concrete businesses.
David was a gifted artist, applying his talents to oil painting, landscape design, home interior decoration, and street rod building. He and Brenda were enthusiastic members of the Dukes Auto Club of Spokane. Through their involvement with the Dukes Club, David and Brenda were blessed with enduring memories and lifelong friendships.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his beloved wife, Brenda. Surviving are his daughter, Lisa and husband, Jared Thomas; son, Matthew and his wife, Amy Jo; stepson, James Brewer and his wife, Erin; four grandchildren, Josh, JT, JJ and Peyton; a great-granddaughter, Emilee; brother, Dean and his wife, Dawn; and nephews, Jeffrey and Tommy Knobloch.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2025, at Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane. Following the memorial service please join the family at Stadium Pizza Parlor, located at 4423 W. Wellesley Ave., in Spokane, for a come-and-go reception in celebration of David's life. Those who wish to remember David in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the
charity of their choice.
