LANG,
David Garth
(Age 49)
David Garth Lang, 49, Director of Strength and Conditioning at Washington State University, passed away February 24, 2018 at Pullman Regional Hospital. Passed away unexpectedly of a yet to be determined cause.
David was born January 23, 1969 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, the son of William and Judy (Hutt) Lang. He grew up in Fort Atkinson, attending Fort Atkinson schools and was a member of the football team, graduating from high school in 1987. Following graduation, David worked for a time, before beginning his college education at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, earning his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. David later received his master's degree from Austin Peay University, in Clarksville, TN. He located to Pullman, WA in 1998 and began his distinguished career with Washington State University. David belonged to the CSCCA association and was nominated in 1995 and 1998 for National Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year.
David has two children, Joseph Michael and Cameron James, from a previous marriage. David married his beloved wife, Brigitta Brosemer, on January 31, 2013 in Pullman, WA. His love for her was undeniable as they traveled together around the United States, Mexico, and Europe, and during Joe's freshman year at WSU, attending all WSU football away games to watch him long snap. Brigitta and David spent much of their time together in the weight room, attending women's basketball games, and walking their three dogs: Sydney, Zoosa, and Sammy. David's favorite things were camping and boating with his wife, family and friends and his Sunday calls with his dad. He also loved to ride his motorcycle and research vehicles in his free time as he was an automotive enthusiast. He found joy in inspirational videos as well as sending them to his close family and friends. He was an avid reader and loved to spend his time in the weight room working out and helping people in every way he possibly could. David's children were his pride and joy, especially his boys. He treasured his time in the weight room with all the children. He was looking forward to his stepdaughter's admission to WSU as he planned to mentor her in athletics. He was also looking forward to watching Cam follow in his big brother, Joe's, footsteps as long snapper for the University of Idaho.
He is survived by his wife Brigitta of Pullman, WA; his children Joseph Lang of Las Vegas, NV; Cameron Lang of Moscow, ID; Alyssa Friel and Timmon Friel of Pullman, WA; Bennett Friel of Santa Barbara, CA; his father William Lang of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and six siblings: Laura Lyn Rinden of Fort Atkinson, WI, Karren (Brian) DeWitt of Tomahawk, WI, Nina (Daniel) Veenhuis of Fort Atkinson, WI, Billy (Andrea Larsen) Lang of Monroe, WI, Harold (Liz) Lang, of Fort Collins, CO, and Patrick (Colleen) Lang of Madison, WI.
