Odean, Donna Lily (McNabb) Jun 11, 1928 - Dec 7, 2025 Donna Lily (McNabb) Odean entered into rest on December 7, 2025. Born June 11, 1928, to pioneering parents, Francis A. and Lily (Thompson) McNabb at Vanguard, Saskatchewan, Canada, she moved with her family to the farming district of Aneroid, Saskatchewan at the age of six months, and attended school and lived there for 17 years. She moved to Spokane in 1945 and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School the following year. In 1950, she married Henry E. Odean. The Odean's celebrated 67 years of marriage before the passing of Henry in June of 2017. Donna was employed at the Washington Water Power Company, and the Old National Bank. She wrote for the Spokesman-Review for several years, served as Assistant Director of Public Relations at Whitworth College, and as PR Director and Press Secretary for the Office of the Mayor, Spokane during Expo '74, and until she retired in 1987. Mrs. Odean was a member and elder of Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, active in the church's Portable Projects program and the Women's Association, and was past Moderator of the Deborah Circle. She previously served as president of the Whitworth College Auxiliary for several years, and as president of Spokane Chapter of Women in Communications. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lowry (Robert) of Millwood; and son, Reverend John C. Odean (Kevin) of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers in Canada. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church – 4102 S. Crestline Street, Spokane, WA 99203.
