Dorothy JONES Obituary

JONES, Dorothy L. A. (Age 82) Dorothy LeIla Adams Jones was called back to the Father November 8th, 2014. She was born May 17th, 1932 in Conrad, Montana to William and Daisy Adams. She graduated from Shelby High School in Shelby, Montana in 1951. She continued her education at Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. She received her Nurses Cap in 1953 and graduated from Deaconess Nursing School in Spokane as an RN with the class of 1955. She married a young navy pilot, LTJG James G. L. Jones in 1956. Upon return to the states from overseas after the birth of her fourth child, Dorothy went back to nursing and worked as a head ER nurse at Everett General until she decided to devote herself to her family full time. She was active in Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star as well as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, and she always helped with activities that her children were involved in. In later years she became a very active member of Millwood Presbyterian Church, including attending national conferences and acting as treasurer for some time. Her interests included arts and crafts, reading, walking, and especially music, being a longtime member of the Millwood Presbyterian Church Choir. Mrs. Jones is survived by her sister, Deanna Dunbar; her four children, Julie, Cynthia, William and James; and their families, including two granddaughters, Alicia and Danielle. She was preceded in death by her husband, James. A Memorial will be held at Millwood Presbyterian Church in Millwood, WA at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 20th, 2014.
