One full year has expired since dad has died. These 365 days have not made his passing any softer, nor do we miss him any less. Our hearts will forever hold him close. I see bits of him leaking out here and there - in our selves, each other, our kids - and in our children's children. And I send out my thanks and gratitude - to our dad - for all the people you touched, all the lives you changed, for believing in family and for knowing that everyone takes their own road - and encouraging that. Loving and missing - and hoping that each of us remembers how he lived: honestly and unconditionally. That's how love should be: honest, unconditional. That's what family means: honesty and unconditional love and acceptance. Thank you, dad . . . for all the love you shared and the amazing lessons you gave - to each of us, from all of us. Lisa Rogers said, "A man's worth is measured by how he parents his children. What he gives them, what he keeps away from them, the lessons he teaches and the lessons he allows them to learn on their own." Your lessons live on - we'll see to it.

To my family:

We are all heartbroken by the loss of our "Daddy". I feel blessed to be a part of such a strong family. Your love, laughter, hugs and tears have helped me to cope during this very difficult time.

May we gain strength from each other and cherish the memories we have of Dad. As we continue to celebrate his life, remember the lessons he taught us: Respect others, be honest, always do what you believe is right, care for others and have fun in all you do.

I love you all and may you feel the comforting arms of God wrapped around you. Go slow and be safe!

To my family many miles away:

My heart aches at this devistating loss, but it is quickly calmed in knowing that Grandpa is in a better place. When my children are feeling better, I will be by your side. Until then, be strong, lean on one another, and laugh a little. Grandpa would have thrown in a few jokes that were completely inappropriate, but would make everyone laugh, remember that and apply it. My love to everyone!

Dear Ruth And Family
There are no words that will make this time easy to bear, but we want you all to know that you are in our prayers.
Hughie was at mass on Saturday evening and said a prayer that Bud would have a peaceful passing when it was his time
Around 7 P.M. Sharon called to let us know that that is exactly what happened.
Buddy will be missed by many people and it is a big loss to humanity.

Dear Ruth & Family, Doc will be missed by so many people at least he isn't suffering anymore and can watch out for you from above. He was such a fun person. Pat Little, Romeoville

Dear Ruth and family,

I was saddened to hear of the death of your husband and father.

I know you will miss him very much, but I hope the great memories each of you have of great times with him will bring you comfort in the weeks and months ahead.

You have a great family and I know you can all lean on each other for support.

My most sincere sympathies to all of you.

PS Patti, I wish I could have come to the wake and had an opportunity to see and talk with you and perhaps remember good times at Valley View. (I am out of the country on vacation as I write this)

Grandpa you are the strongest man I have ever known and you have taught me so many things that I will carry with me throughout my life. You taught me to never give up no matter what the odds are, what people say, or how diffucult things get. You have also taught me to always do things with a smile on my face. Your jokes were constantly lighting up the faces of the people around you and for that I thank you. We all miss you so much but we know that you are watching over us every single day and we now have the greatest gaurdian angel ever imagined! Praying for all of the family! Love you.

Dear Sharon and family,
I have very fond memories of many years ago. We were both 11ish. I would come over and we would sneak down to your Dad's office and play on the exam tables. Laughing and having such a great time. I know your Dad must have known, but he was so sweet and never said a word. I hope you and your family find peace and know that your Dad was a special man. Your old friend, Karen Karlstad Gonzalez

Sharon and family,
So sorry to hear this. You know now - he is at rest. As for the rest of you, you now need to join together and heal your pain and sorrow caused by this loss. I know it will be hard. But remember all the good times along with some of the bad times you had. Then healing will hopefully come quicker. Prayers are sent from my family to yours.
