Elaine ALLING Obituary

February 6, 1946 - September 13, 2024

Hampstead - Elaine Joyce Alling passed away peacefully in Hampstead, MD. on September 13th, 2024. Elaine was born on February 6th, 1946, in North Carolina to Betty Brauner. She was raised in Kettle Falls, Washington, and later met her husband, Kenneth James Alling, in Spokane, Washington, while attending college art classes. They were married in 1965 and started their family. She is survived by six children, Paula Hurst, Rebecca Alling, Bill Alling, Heather Krogemann, Josh Alling, and Jake Alling; and her three grandchildren, Andrew, Ace, and Dash Alling. She dedicated her life to her children, always putting their needs above her own, instilling a compassionate nature and giving spirit to all of them. Elaine taught her children to give a helping hand to anyone in need and will be remembered as a nurturing soul who could illuminate hope with her kind and comforting words. She and her husband brought much love for arts and crafts into the lives of many. Elaine was very dedicated to scouting and helping teach young scouts crafts and activities for many years. She was a beautifully talented quilter, crafter, and gifted sewer, teaching many novices throughout her years. Elaine was a ravenous reader of all kinds of books, even as her sight was going, she never stopped reading books. Elaine held her Mormon faith close throughout her years and was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Betty Brauner; and her husband, Kenneth. She is survived by her brothers, Hall and Bruce; and her sister, Marsha Brauner. Elaine will be lovingly remembered as a gentle soul. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
