Emily managed life as a series of exciting adventures, daughter, wife, mom, traveler, entrepreneur, explorer, health advocate, socialite, and family member. Each part of her journey has been unique, and yet they all embody a special quality. Call it grit, passion, resilience or determination, she possessed a fierce and passionate way of living the adventures. She radiated energy and no matter what challenges came her way, she persisted.
She was first a daughter - born in the Philippines on May 27th and grew up in Agdangan, a town in the province of Quezon, with her siblings Roldan and Luby. She attended Luzonian University in Lucena City where she received a bachelors in Education. On April 27, 1987 she married Vince Bozzi and moved to the United States shortly thereafter. The two couldn't have been a better match for each other.
Together they had Jordan, their only son. As his mother, Emily's love was like nothing else in the world. Her love was both strong and gentle, loud and quiet, unrelenting and yielding, protecting and releasing. They loved each other unconditionally. Her devoted mother Josie Guevarra joined her in Spokane, WA (her father deceased). Her family broadened to include her mother-in-law Betty Cowan, and four new sisters: Cecilia Parker, Julie Bozzi, Angie Bozzi and Shirley Hudson.
In Emily's early life, her ambitions, relationships, and friendly nature prepared her to be an extraordinary salesperson working at Sears to eventually becoming the President of Sales & Co-Publisher of Bozzi Media in Spokane, WA which publishes a series of magazines: Spokane Coeur d'Alene Living, Catalyst, Nostalgia, and most recently a restaurant: 180 Bar & Bistro partnering with Delectable Catering & Events. Together with Vince, Emily built a business that cherished Spokane and Coeur d'Alene's history, people, events, natural beauties, businesses and opportunities. This year, with normal life and events postponed, she filled her posts on Facebook with her memories of the past happenings and celebrations to create hope for better days ahead.
Emily used her zest for adventure to constantly try new things. She enjoyed posting pictures of her and her family and friends, skydiving, hiking, jumping in glee, paddle boarding, celebrating holidays, traveling, and advocating health and fitness. As a proud Filipina, she always included a few of her favorite dishes from the Philippines such as Lumpia, Pancit, and roast pig to family gatherings. Emily might, at times, be found smoking a cigar while sipping Cognac.
Her passion and adventure created an energy that drew people into being comfortable as a part of her life and in the community. Cheers to Emily Bozzi and her lifetime of adventures. She will be remembered by the smiles she put on people's faces.
She will be remembered warmly by all those she touched.
Emily passed on December 8th, and is survived by Vince Bozzi, her son Jordan Bozzi, mother Josie Guevarra, brother Roldan Guevarra, sister Luby Guevarra, in-laws: Cecilia Parker, Julie Bozzi, Angie Bozzi, and Shirley Hudson, their spouses and many other relatives.
