Francis HAVLOVICK Obituary

HAVLOVICK,
Francis
Anthony

Francis Anthony Havlovick, of Spokane, went home with his Lord Jesus Christ July 25, 2018. Born to Paul and Lillian Havlovick on February 10, 1929 in Arlee, MT, Frank was the eldest son of Montana home-steaders. As a first generation American, he was a typical farm boy: bucking bales, planting crops, milking cows, and driving the family's Model A Ford. After graduating from Ronan High School, he left home at 17 for a year in Chicago to attend school at Coyne Electrical School. Returning to the northwest after graduation, he settled in Spokane and began working at Sears Roebuck. While taking dancing lessons, he met the love of his life Suzetta Judd. They married April 8, 1951 and were soon deployed to Fairbanks, Alaska where he served in the Air Force for two years. Settling back in Spokane, and his job at Sears, they were both active in the community and Grace Baptist Church. There, he held almost every job at some time, and was always ready to help. Finally in 1959 they welcomed their only child, Linda Belle, into their world. During his 42-year career with Sears, he was often sent to training programs across the west coast as new electronics such as stereos, television, microwaves, security systems, and computers were being developed, and then came back to the shop to train his colleagues. He was known for inventing new tools to assist in his technical work. His greatest joy in retirement was caring for his two grandsons, Jordan and Joel. He was involved in community activities including COPS Northwest, COPS Graffiti Team, and Restorative Justice.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Sue. He is survived by his daughter Linda and son-in-law Bob Morris and their sons Jordan (Jenny) and Joel. He is also survived by his sister Polly Hall, Spokane; brothers Joe (Mary) Havlovick, Polson, MT, and Vic Havlovick, Warrenton, VA, and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and their families.

His life will be celebrated at a memorial service August 4, at Christ the Redeemer Church, 1523 W. Mallon, Spokane, at 4 pm. A family graveside service will precede the memorial.

I respected and deeply loved Frank and Sue for the kindness and respect they showed me. Spokane is a much better place because of the work that he put into the Graffiti and Restorative Justice Programs of Spokane C.O.P.S. I will never forget Frank or Sue. God bless his family, Polly Hall and all those he loved. Dwight Emerson
