Frank ORSI Jr.

1931 - 2024

Frank Orsi Jr. passed away on July 13, 2024. Born November 17, 1931, in Spokane to Italian immigrants Amelia and Frank Orsi Sr., he attended West Valley High School. While in high school he participated in all sports, especially loving football. He graduated from Washington State College and enlisted in the Army. Frank was stationed in Mannheim, Germany for two years. In 1959, he married RaNae Johann. The two lived happily together, just two weeks short of 65 years.

Frank worked for Johnson-Lieber Food Brokerage for 30 years, retiring as Vice President and Manager of their Spokane office. After retiring, he and RaNae spent their time riding motorcycles, boating, traveling, salmon fishing, camping in their RV, and golfing. He enjoyed hunting, playing handball, and water/snow skiing. Frank was a long-time member of the Spokane Yacht Club, Manito Golf and Country Club, Spokane Club, Elks, and the Over the Hill Gang Motorcycle Club in East Valley, Arizona.

Many memories were made while traveling the world, cheering on the racehorses they owned with friends at Playfair Race Track and riding his beloved Honda Gold Wing motorcycle wherever he could take it. He loved his WSU Cougars, helping to start Cougar Mania and earning an Outstanding Service Award for his work in 1993.

Frank is survived by his wife, RaNae; sons, Mitch Orsi of Spokane, and Todd Orsi of Sandpoint; daughters, Denise Beale (Loren) of Pomeroy, and Karen Orsi of Spokane. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jack Orsi, Michelle Orsi, Sabrina Hasenoehrl (Kyle), Mallory Lobe (Trey), Greg Beale (Sarah), Sean Beale (Amanda), Carmen Anderson (Josh), Angi Orsi, Colton Johnson, Trent Johnson, Kendall Johnson and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Ida Lombardi and Lena Busch. The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane for their caring help in Frank's last few days.

Memorials may be given to the Wishing Star Foundation or Hospice of Spokane. A rosary will take place at 6 PM, on July 22, at Hennessey Funeral Home (2203 N. Division St.). The funeral Mass will be officiated by Frank's nephew, Father Gary Lombardi of Petaluma, CA. It will be held on July 23, at 11 AM, at St. Peter Catholic Church (3520 E 18th Avenue, Spokane). A reception will follow in the parish hall. A private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
