Gail Patricia KRETZ

November 9, 1938 – June 19, 2025

We were heartbroken to say goodbye to Gail this summer. She - and we - believed there would be many more patio parties, lunch dates, travel tickets to book, and Christmas mornings spent with family in her days ahead.

Gail was born and raised in Campbell River, BC, and moved to Washington State in 1961. She began her career in the travel industry in Spokane, where she lived for the rest of her life. She loved traveling the world, collecting recipes, researching and completing interior design projects at home, gardening, and lavishing attention on her cat Hummer, and later, Lola. She was tenderly cared for by Don Engel before he passed in 2018.

Gail was predeceased by her father, Mike Golinski; mother, Lily Nichiporuk; stepfather, Dmetri Nichiporuk; and brother, Nick Golinski. She leaves behind sister, Fia Goulet; sister-in-law, Joy Golinski; cousin, Ron Petersen; nieces, Karen Golinski (Josh Hamlett) and Carmen Golinski; nephews, Michael Golinski (Courtney), Nicholas Goulet (Haylee), and Christopher Goulet (Cassie); along with their children. Gail is also mourned by members of the Engel family; long-time friends, Laverna Anderson, Diana Kretz, and Jeannie Berg; and many friends, colleagues, and clients. The Golinski and Goulet families are grateful for her fun-loving and caring group of neighborhood friends - who brought her great joy.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held from 1–5 pm, on September 20, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spokane Humane Society.
