George ALEXANDER Obituary

George Orville Alexander II, age 74, of Spokane, WA passed away on April 18, 2022. George is survived by his loving and devoted wife Connie Alexander, his two sons, Sean (Melissa) Blumhagen and George Alexander III, and his three grandchildren, Tyler Frederickson (21), Avarie Blumhagen (17), and Logan Alexander (4), and his brother Dave (Cindy) Alexander of Liberty Lake. George grew up in Liberty Lake, WA where he enjoyed many of the hobbies the area had to offer. He loved water skiing on the lake, riding mountain bikes through the trails, and once the snow hit he could be found on the various local slopes. George was once considered a pioneer amongst the extreme sports enthusiasts in the area. Once George set his sights on hang-gliding he spent countless trips perfecting the craft and was even asked to be the American Ambassador during a hang-gliding trip to Russia. The family has many fond memories of taking hang-gliding trips where George would soar. George spent over 40 years with UPS delivering goods and packages, and many along his route became very special to him to the point he considered them friends. George's family would often hear stories of who he had lunch with or visited while he made his deliveries. He was very dedicated to his service with UPS and upon retirement was missed by many. Once retired, George focused his energy on golf. Often out before the sun, he went on to become a member of the Senior PGA and president of the Liberty Lake Golf Club for some time. He never did anything small. While George endured in his later years and eventually succumbed to the difficulties of dementia, he truly lived life to the fullest in his prime. He was a man of character and faith who would do anything for his family and friends. George had a very generous heart, and his family is grateful to know that he is finally at peace. A memorial to celebrate George's life will be planned at a later date and time.

I met George when I was 18 years old. I was shopping for a new pair of Ski Boots and George fitted me into a great pair which I purchased. George also sold me a hang glider and taught me how to fly which resulted in many years or snow, water and air sports. I have endless memories of fun times with George and the "Gang" I miss you George and I am pretty sure we will meet again on the other side. Rest in peace my friend - you deserve it!
