Gery VANDER MEER Obituary

May 1, 2024

Springfield - Gery Vander Meer passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus on May 1, 2024, in Springfield, Oregon. He was the oldest son of Dal and Joan Vander Meer, an Eagle Scout, and proudly graduated from Lewis and Clark High School followed by his three siblings, David (Kathy), Kristine (Vern), and Wade (Barbara). He continued his education at Walla Walla Community College and the University of Oregon. Gery was fondly known as Uncle Oregon to his 11 nephews and nieces. We will miss Gery's smile, laugh, and optimistic outlook. The family will gather June 14, Gery's 73rd birthday, for his memorial.

Very sorry to learn of Gery's passing. We graduated from LC together after a life of going through school and scouting together. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to Gery's family. He took me under his wing, learning how to race the high hurdles at Lewis and Clark. He had a great sense of humor and was very encouraging.
