Gregory MATTOX Obituary

MATTOX, Gregory Wade

March 3, 1952-
January 30, 2018

Greg passed away on January 30th at his home in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his sister, Pam Fife (Shelby), sister, Debbie Kiesel (Steve), and brother Rob Mattox (Susan); along with many nieces and nephews.
Greg was born in Spokane, Washington. He was a self-made man and worked hard from an early age. He began working for the State of Washington right out of high school and later became a successful realtor in Washington, Idaho and Arizona, and a long-time real-estate auditor for the State of Washington.
Greg was a beloved brother, son, uncle and devoted friend. He loved Coeur d'Alene Lake and enjoyed being on the water. He retired at an early age and was able to make his winter home in the warmer climate of Arizona.
The family is planning on having a memorial later on this spring to celebrate his life with those who knew him. He will be missed.

When I worked at Lakeland Village in the 70s, I met Greg. I had never met anyone like him; so bright, dynamic and fun to be with. He took me water skiing on my 21st birthday on Lake Coeur d'Alene. So many good memories in those years together. I miss you, GB.

I was stunned to hear of Greg's passing this afternoon. We worked together at Lakeland Village in Medical Lake, WA in the late 60s and early 70s. He was a good friend and I will miss him. In 2016, he took me for a long boat ride around Coeur d'Alene Lake while I was visiting in Spokane. May he rest in peace.

Greg was my friend since we were in Grade School. Our birthdays were on the same day, but his was one year earlier than mine, a fact I never let him forget.
I will miss you very much my dear friend.

I knew Greg in Spokane in 1980's, and we kept in touch on and off when we both moved away. I remember his ice cream shop - he was always up for a new venture! He was a good person and a good friend and I am sad to hear of his passing.

Greg was a bright light in all our lives. The most loyal and giving person I know. Even though we didnt talk often when we did get in touch it was just where wed left off. The world is a dimmer place without him. A loss for all who knew him.

A friend is someone who will bail you out of jail. A best friend is the one sitting next to you saying "boy was that fun".

Greg was such a friend to all his Sun City family. We were so shocked to read of his passing and will so miss his friendly smile as he bicycled around our little community. Rest in peace good friend.

Greg was a friend from long ago at Lewis & Clark High School-loved his smile! We were so sorry to hear of his passing. Best wishes to all of his family.

Greg was the most loyal of friends. He anguished over decisions that affected others and did what he felt was ethical and true. He was a neat nick and would be thr first to tell you his two lifelong friends were not. He would reference the Odd Couple and Oscar and Felix but they were a trio. He had goofy sense of humor which leaned more toward raunchie. The world lost one of the good guys.
Miller I miss you.
