Herbert DRUFFEL

1949 - 2025

On June 5, 2025, Herb F. Druffel succumbed to health ailments that spanned many years. He was born to Herb and Margaret Druffel, Colton, Washington, on August 10, 1949, the fifth of six children. He graduated from Guardian Angel Grade School in Colton and went on to graduate from Gonzaga Preparatory and attend Gonzaga University in Spokane where he spent his adult life.

Herb worked at Sears for several years before becoming employed by local software companies including Egghead and Software Spectrum, a Microsoft affiliate. Always an avid computer enthusiast, he provided telephone customer tech support for the latter.

In mid-life, Herb suffered a severe stroke which disabled him and began his steady health decline. He is survived by siblings, Marian Flahavin, Judy Schlomer, Greg Druffel; and a younger, brother Dennis Druffel. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Sara Druffel (Dave) and Barbara Druffel (Dennis); and numerous nieces and nephews. Herb's parents; and older brother, Dave Druffel, predeceased him.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, 10 AM at Gonzaga Preparatory Chapel with inurnment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Spokane Valley. In line with Herb's wishes, it is suggested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Herb and Margaret Memorial Scholarship Fund at Gonzaga Prep.
