Howard Eugene CARMAN

1930 - 2024

Howard Eugene Carman passed away October 5th, 2024, peacefully, surrounded by his family. Born May 5th, 1930, to Lonnie and Alta Carman in Windsor, Illinois, Howard was one of 8 children. Howard joined the Air Force at the age of 17 and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. He met his future wife, Rose Eileen Wycoff, at the NCO club. Within a year they were married and were married for 69 years before her passing in August 2017. After the Air Force, Howard worked at Kaiser Mead Aluminum for 30 years before retiring. In his retirement years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandchildren. Howard and Rose enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

Together they had 5 children, Nancy Hefling (Bill), Donna Carman, Linda Rogers (Allen), Patty Dinges, and Dennis Carman (Sandy); 22 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, Rose Carman; daughter, Donna Carman; grandson, Ryan Graffia; brothers, Lonnie Edward Carman, Leroy Carman, Roger Carman, and Dennis Carman; and sisters, Eva Carman, Neva Carman, and Alice Marie Carman.

Please join his family in celebrating Howard's life. A visitation will be held Monday, October 14, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 West Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA 99205. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024, 1:00 PM, at Calvary Spokane Church, 511 W. Hastings Rd., Spokane, WA 99218. Reception will follow.
