DAY, Ivan Francis With heavy hearts we announce the loss of our beloved Ivan Francis Day - a man with an uncommonly generous heart and spirit who overcame hardship, worked tirelessly for youth in need, and shared so much with so many over his 61 vibrant years. Ivan was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He passed away on January 18, 2019 surrounded by those that loved him. Ivan dedicated his life to providing foster care to children for over thirty-five years - bringing positive change to the lives of over 500 children. He leaves behind his son Nick Day; his step dad Fredrick Thompson; his sister Charlene Conner; his very special Aunt Vivian; his brother Ian Day, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Through dedication, integrity, and preserverance, he built a successful business that reaches around the globe. Soap Free Procyon became a leader in environmentally-friendly cleaning products. Ivan's legacy will continue for years to come. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 1pm to 4pm at the Spokane Eagles Lodge.

I´ve been was an excellent man, and a great foster parent while I was living with him back in 2012, he was extremely kind and he was always thoughtful of the kids. I just hope that his legacy can live on. There are so many places in foster care where the kids are neglected and treated with disregard, but Ivan was one of the only foster parents that were actually caring and loving for the kids. We all sincerely miss him.

I don't know anyone who loved kids more than Ivan. He just knew that they were special each in their own way and he acted on that knowledge. He didn't make excuses for not helping others. My heart is full of appreciation and love for a man who made lives better...just doing his best and not asking for any glory. He has saved hundreds of kids and it was a pleasure to have any one of 'Ivan's kids' in your
classroom. He was kind and firm and always supported the child and the teacher as best anyone could. I am pleased that I could call him Friend. And honored that he called me Friend. He has been a blessing in my life. All the best to his family...Sincerely, Debbie Dunham Grade One Linwood

I miss you so much ! We were more then family ,we were also the best of friends. We didn't always get to spend as much time with each other that we would of liked to.But that was fine because we always knew we were there for each other .Buster (Ivan) was a wonderful , kind, carrying man. He spent his time helping people and kids who really needed it. R.I.P my dear Buster. You will be in are thoughts and hearts until we meet again . I Love You !! ❤

This candle is to comfort you through the next life in the arms of every angel you may encounter, as an angel here on earth you will be amonst the head angels above, for every selfless, kindest acts that you proceeded to take head on without hesitation to give yourself to all who have needed you the most in life, you more than extended greatness in a lifetime, than most could only dream of, while expecting very little to no praise, just being the most giving heart, and soul to others without complaint, you have saved more lives, and families wether it be through your morally saint heart to help children and families find their way to become the best that they could be, even having the loving heart to use tough love to get through to each, and everyone. And always there to make it possible for families afar to become a part of this country with compassion in finding thier way to better lives. You've always been a true angel to myself, and family, and keeping that closeness as my son has grown into a man that always had the upmost respect, and love for you, even when he was in need of constructive criticism. I myself could never in a lifetime repay you for giving us the chance to be as close as we are today. As we can all attest that it takes a special person to bring families back together as they should be. I know in my heart you will never be forgotten, and will always be blessed on the other side. I do regret not setting up a trip when we'd talked about it before your illness took over. Thank you Ivan always and forever for all you've done hear on this crazy earth.
