Jacquelyn ANDERSON Obituary

January 18, 1941 - July 9, 2025

Spokane Valley - Jacquelyn Roberta Anderson was born January 18, 1941, in Devon, CT, to Walter and Sara Godfrey. She graduated from the Hartford Regional Technical School in 1960 with a Beauty Culture course of study. Jaquelyn married Gerald Anderson, moved to the PNW, and had three children, Dawn, Knute, and Shane Anderson. After a divorce, Jacquelyn moved to Spokane, where she became a much-admired instructor for the more modern hairstyles from the East Coast. In a tragic accident, her son, Shane, lost his life at age 17. Jacquelyn focused on being a hairdresser and built a loyal clientele at the Davenport and Ridpath Hotels. She married William "Bill" Stohlton, a Navy Veteran, on September 2, 1995. Jacquelyn loved to travel and took many trips and cruises to Asia, Europe, the Caribbean and Alaska. After losing her husband to cancer in 2005, Jacquelyn continued as a hairdresser, serving several independent living facilities as well as her hotel clientele. She retired at age 77. Jacquelyn died peacefully on July 9, 2025, at age 84. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Bill, at Site 12, in the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, a peaceful place where they will be together forever.
