James L. Boyd, of his beloved hometown of Inchelium, WA, passed away on June 21, 2016, due to natural causes in Spokane, WA.

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Inchelium Community Center. Funeral will take place on Tuesday June 28, 2016, at Round Lake, 10:00 am, about 7 miles east of Inchelium on Bridge Creek Road.

Burial will follow at the Hall Creek cemetery with a dinner immediately following at the Inchelium Community Center. Danekas Funeral Home in Colville, WA is in charge of the arrangements.

Jim was born to Louis and Violet Boyd on January 1, 1956. Jim was a renown musician, known far and wide, which included his service as Chairman of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. He touched and influenced many by his sheer presence, modesty and versatile songwriting ability. He was a seven time award winner and a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. He has worked on projects for Miramax, Warner Brothers, Mega International Records, Dixie Frog Records, Sound of America Records. Jim released 15 records over the course of music career spanning four decades. Jim also managed his own career and continued to perform as the business owner and operator of his label, Thunderwolf Records.

Jim's legacy will live on through his music, cherished by family, friends and thousands of devote fans worldwide.

Jim is preceded in death by his father Louis; son James Boyd Jr., and numerous cousins and family.

Jim is survived by his wife Shelly; mother, Violet Boyd; brothers Lanny and Michael; sisters Pam, Luana and LaDonna; sons Joel, Dakota, Brian and Michael Carson, and daughter Stevey Seymour; his adopted family Brandy Baptiste; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
