Janet VAN ORMAN Obituary

Janet L. Van Orman passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the age of 79, after battling a long-time illness. The family expresses their thanks for the loving care given at Spokane Hospice House in her final days.

Born & raised in Wenatchee, Janet spent her time picking apples, cherries and pears on the family orchards. She competed with the Appleatchee Drill team with her horse Copper. Janet learned how to water ski and hunt on Lake Chelan during her summers at the family cabin which served her well in the coming years. Graduating from Wenatchee High School, she spent the summer exploring Europe. Janet worked as a supervisor at Pacific NW Bell right out of high school and retired from same company.

Janet married the love of her life Stanley Van Orman. Together they built a homestead from the ground up. She loved to go 4 wheeling, camping in the motor home, hunting, gardening and feeding the deer as well as playing with the fur babies an Australian Blue Healer named Bella and a Manx cat named Zippi.

Janet was a tremendous advocate during swim meets for her Niece/Nephew and created memorable outings with the grandkids. One such time was during Halloween; the cabin was elaborately decorated giving the grandkids a special overnight retreat completed with spooking the kiddos with a flying witch!

Preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Kathryn Rose Jr.

Survived by her husband Stanley Van Orman and siblings Rick and Terry Rose of Hawaii and James and Patricia Hall of East Wenatchee and nieces/nephews (Robert, Casey, Sara, Bethany); stepsons and daughters-in-law, Lane and Cindy Van Orman of Spokane Valley, Darren and Wendy Van Orman of Liberty Lake, Clinton and Bunnie Van Orman of California; as well as (8) grandchildren (Alisha, Jennifer, Amber, Dustin, Jeremy, Cameron, Clay and Jessica) and (11) great-grandchildren.

There will be services held at Fairmount Memorial on Thursday, June 17th at 1:00 pm at 5200 W. Wellesley in Spokane, Washington.

Janet always had a positive word in every situation that she faced. She was encouraging and loving toward everyone. We are so thankful that we were able to spend time in her final days with her and pray for my brother in days to come. That he be comforted during this time of grief. As well as comfort to the family. She will always be remembered with love.
