Jeffery Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON, Jeffery David June 2, 1955 - November 16, 2009 "JJ, Moose, Uncle Jeff, St. Francis" Jeff loved everyone he met, and he was easy to love back. He was an angel on earth, a gentle giant. Jeff was passionate about sports, animals (especially dogs), and music. He loved people and always looked forward to having good times with family and friends. He loved meeting new friends and had special appreciation and fondness for all who cared for him during his eight plus years living with cancer. Survivors include his mother Julienne Otto Johnson; brothers and sisters Bert and Sheila Johnson, Greg and Brenda Johnson, Mary Gayle and Tim Lord, Susan and Darrol Hval; nephews and nieces Kristian, Kelly, Kooper, Elizabeth and Mary Hval. Jeff was preceded in death by his brother Brad (1991) and father Jay R. Johnson (2003). A vigil service will be 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 19 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 505 W. St. Thomas More Way. Jeff will be privately inurned at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts to Hospice of Spokane, Special Olympics and St. Thomas More Parish. We have such wonderful memories of Jeff. He truly inspired our lives with his honesty and marvelous sense of humor. We, the Turcottes, feel so special and honored to have been part of Jeff Johnson's life. What beautiful memories have been shared the last few days since we learned of his death. I wish to express my deepest condolences on the loss of Jeff. He was a great childhood friend and I will always cherish my childhood memories on Laurelhurst and times with Jeff. I am certain he is enjoying a great new life with Jesus in Heaven. I am sorry I cannot be in Spokane now to attend his funeral.
