Jerud,

I just found out that you departed soon after we last talked. Why did I not know until now? Shame on me. May your soul rest in peace brother. Don't we miss the frequent Skype calls we had? I might not be there anytime soon, but I sure will be there in the future when my duty on this earth is done. We'll party hard like we did in Osaka back in the 90's. Love and miss you.

To Jerud's Family,

I am deeply saddened by the sudden death of Jerud. I'm proud to have known such a kind, warm and brilliant person. I met him in Osaka, Japan in 1994, and we reconnected via Facebook last year (2009). He was such a fun person to be around when I met him in Japan. He was always upbeat and engaging, always ready to listen. He was a good person and I will surely miss him. I am truly sorry for your loss and I hope Jerud has found peace.

With sincere condolences,

Sharon & Pat Lipton

Jerud:

You always, always showed such vitality, love, enthusiasm and zest for life. I hold a special place in my heart for all the adventures that we had while living and studying in Osaka. The world got a little more dim today with the word of your passing. I hope that your energy and spirit lives on and through all those you touched, loved and inspired.

We reconnected as we recognized each other from across the room two years ago, and chatted for hours. I looked forward to communicating with you, sharing stories and inspirations. I regret we never made time for that dinner we were to have. You will be missed Jerud, but I hope you have found the peace for which you searched. All of us are here for Travis and Jen, and they are loved.

Jerud, I am extremely saddened and shocked by the news of your early departure.

Despite having lost touch with you since you left Japan and me moving to Australia, it was great to reestablish contact with you a few years ago and had been looking forward to having a reunion some day.

I am kicking myself for not creating that opportunity sooner, and for having taken "life" for granted literally.

You will never be forgotten, and your spirit will live on forever in my fondest memories of the good ol' Tokyo days. The world is lesser without you here, but so much richer for the memories you have left with us.

My heart goes out to his surviving family members.
