Jim MONROE

1956 - 2022

James Edward Monroe, 65 of Spokane Washington lost his courageous battle with cancer on February 27,2022. Jim was born on March 26, 1956 to James Carl Monroe and Armella (Millie) Mehl in Spokane, Washington. He was a kind, gentle, loving man. He graduated from North Central High School in 1974. He then joined the US Navy and was stationed on the USS Coral Sea. He married the love of his life Elaine in 1988. He retired from Rockwood Clinic in 2018. He is survived by his loving wife Elaine, son Carl (Melissa and her two children, Connor and Morgyn), daughter Kae (Trent), and German Shepherd "Millie". Also survived by grandchildren Lailah, Isaiah, Gillan and Luke; brother Gary (Debby), sisters Connie (Steve), Jeannine (Dave) and Belinda (Shane); sisters-in-law Cassi (Mark) and Dodie (Tony) and brother-in-law Greg (Nancy) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Preceeded in death by his parents and loved ones. There will be a private interment at Washington State Veteran's Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on May 21, 2022 from 2 to 6pm at Manito Park in the shelter by the duck pond. He will be dearly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
