Joseph Arnold Obituary

ARNOLD,
Joseph Charles III
"J.C."
August 8, 1975 -
June 2, 2011

Our beloved J.C. has slipped the bonds of our earthly embraces to forever rest in the arms of Jesus Christ, his heavenly father. J.C. succumbed suddenly to an inoperable brain aneurysm. Despite his shortness of years he lived life to the fullest. He was born August 8, 1975 in Spokane, Washington to Charles and Cherie Arnold. A beautiful bright eyed baby boy would leave an imprint on the hearts of all who knew him. J.C. grew up in the residential area of Suncrest located at Nine Mile Falls where he attended kindergarten through 12th grade. He was a member of the first graduating class at Lakeside High School. He achieved numerous academic and athletic accolades including two Presidential Academic Achievement Awards from President Reagan. J.C. participated in a variety of sports to include soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis and varsity football. He maintained friendships with his teammates throughout his life. J.C. continued to enjoy a deep passion for sports to include Mariners, Seahawks, Eastern Eagle football and W.S.U. basketball. He also played rugby for a season with the Spokane Razorbacks. J.C. joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1993 to become an aviator. He was a member of Battery A, 1st Battalion, 14th Marines. During his service to the Marines his natural leadership qualities afforded him numerous accolades, awards and recognitions. He was a Marine to the core. J.C. was an articulate, well read and handsome gentleman whose passion for life and family was unequaled. His greatest joy was his young son Joseph who will remain the eternal smile in J.C.'s heart. J.C.'s brother Chris was his best buddy. The two were rarely seen apart. They could always count on one another for a good time. They will forever share the bonds of brotherhood. His sister Natalie was J.C.'s inspiration as he always admired her grace and tenacity. He was fiercely protective of his little sister. His hero was his father Chuck. J.C. took tremendous pride in following in his dad's footsteps. Together with his brother Chris the three formed CA Construction. J.C. was a compassionate man who loved all creatures great and small. He rescued his black German shepherd Lucy from the Humane Society while often wishing he could rescue all abandoned animals. Heaven must have needed some more humor because J.C. had the gift of making any situation funny. Joseph Charles is survived by his young son Joseph Charles IV; girlfriend Meagan McCarthy, her daughter Madeline McCarthy; parents Charles and Cherie Arnold; brother Christopher (Deanna) Arnold; sister Natalie (Dr. Reese) Riggin; grandparents Charles and Shirley Arnold; grandmother Joan Monforton; nephews Trystian Arnold and Cruz Riggin; niece Chevelle Riggin and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather Joseph F. Monforton, great-grandparents Ed and June Harding, Joseph C. Arnold and Violet Peterson. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Christian Center, 1108 N. Argonne Rd. Spokane Valley with interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 17825 E. Trent Ave. followed by a reception at New Hope Christian Center. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial trust fund for his young son. Contributions may be made at any Washington Trust Bank. His family would like to extend their most heartfelt appreciation to the medical professionals at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center's Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit. We would like to extend a huge prayer of gratitude to New Hope Christian Center, Pastor Jim Olson, and Brenda and Roger Graham for demonstrating what Christian love really means. J. C. was the Christmas in our hearts, the gift of life that we will always cherish. Please sign J.C.'s online guestbook at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to:
