Dear Jo Jo please say hello to my precious Brother in Heaven, what an amazing brother he was and will always be like you are to your sisters, and family I lost my Brother in a tragic car accident at the age of 19 a life filled with a mission like you. Your a beautiful young lady and I know God needed you in Heaven to help with all the children that mommies and Daddies miss. You sound strong, confident and have such an amazing love for others, and you proved that here on Earth. In time your family will see you again, I pray for their healing, and I know their pain. We are so lost here but we need to hold on to our faith and know that there is a greater joy and you now know!
God Bless you and I pray we all carry the torch for Toys for Tots in memory of you. I pray for strength for your family that they will continue to keep loving one another and be strong in memory of you.

Josie, I don't ever remember a time where you didn't have a smile on your face. You would come into the room and it would just brighten up! We might not have been best friends but we were good friends! I always loved talking to you! You were the nicest, sweetest, and always so caring! I sit in class looking at your seat thinking why? Why did you have to leave? I just can't grasp knowing you really are gone, I don't want to believe it. You truely touched so many peoples lives it's unreal! You will be remembered by lots of people and I can promise that! I know you will never be forgotten ever! You have the biggest heart! I believe that you are watching over all of us in the sky! A parent should never out live their child. I will live life like Josie would. ? I love you Josie. Rest in Paradise.

We did not know JO Jo but I can say first hand the loss of a child is one of the most heart wrenching thing that can happen to a parent, my thoughts and Gods arms are around your family, i can say it takes some time to heal, and as I con tune to heal the loss of my son I will think of you and your healing. may God guide you through this processes.

My daughter Lizzy sat in front of Jo Jo in first period and was in the same classrooms as her for all six years at South Pines. I volunteered time in the classrooms and got to spend time around Jo Jo and her family, and the thing that stands out the most for me was how close they were as a family. I'm sure that's why Jo Jo was so open and inclusive...she never refused to play with anyone, even the hardest kids to get along with. She was warm, silly, caring, and open. I can see why there is such an outpouring of emotion at her passing. I will always remember the way her eyes crinkled when she smiled and those freckles across her nose, and how excited she was to be the big sister when Jessica came to their home. I hope that all these memories of your beautiful angel comfort you and help you realize she will live in the hearts and minds of so many...you have our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy for your devastating loss.

I was with Josie, Mckenzie, and Preston two hours before the incident. I won't ever forget the laughs and never fading smiles I saw right before they left. They made everyone's day better, and was there for anyone when they needed them. They made the best come out of people. They were the nicest most sweetest girls I've ever met in my life. I hate to see two of my good friends go. They will always be with us and never forgotten.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Our daughters attended U-High together. They had played on opposing basketball teams in middle school. Your daughter at Bowdish, mine at North Pines. They seemed to form a bit of a rivalry with each other. Knowing they were going to end up at U-High together, I had told my daughter that I had a feeling they had a lot in common and watch them end up being friends. Sure enough, when they were Freshmen, they had a few classes together and before long, they were pretty good friends at school and my daughter considered Jo Jo a close friend. Our entire family sends our love and prayers for God to ease your pain.

Kristin, Rick, Julia and Jessica, I can't even begin to imagine the pain that you are feeling at this time. As a parent we hope and pray that our kids are good members of society, doing good and being good. There is no question that Jo Jo was just that, Good! Ryann had so many good times and great memories with Josie and is left with an empty space in her heart, we all are. To know that Josie's spirit will forever be present gives us some peace. I wish I could answer the "why?" question, what I choose to believe is that God has a special project and he needed the perfect angles, and so he called on Josie and McKenzie. My Grandson Garrett is a sophomore at University. He was also at the birthday party and knew Jo Jo, Mackenzie and Preston. Garrett sat next to Jo Jo in 1st period. He is devastated. He loved Jo Jo and Mackenzie and said they were the sweetest girls ever. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family at this very difficult time.
