Kenneth "Fritz" WALL

June 21, 1944 - October 26, 2025

SPOKANE - Kenneth Frederick Wall, affectionately known as Fritz by family and friends, was born on June 21, 1944, and passed away October 26, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva; father, Harry; and brother, Mike.

Fritz lived most of his life in Spokane, attending St. Augustine's Grade School, Gonzaga Prep, and graduated from Gonzaga University with a history major. For years he held season tickets to Gonzaga Men's Basketball, and he remained a loyal fan with a faithful love for all things Gonzaga.

Before Parkinsons impaired his physical activity, Fritz was highly active and loved to travel. An avid tennis player and longtime member of the Central Park Raquet Club, Fritz also made trips as a spectator to the New York Open and Wimbledon. Fritz ran with friends in multiple Bloomsday runs and completed the Portland Marathon. Among his many travels, Fritz hiked in Slovenia, climbed Mt. St. Helens, and backpacked with family and friends. At eighteen, Fritz's first big trip was to Europe with his close friend, and his last trip was with the same friend on a train trip through the Canadian Rockies.

While Fritz was legendarily frugal, what people did not know was how generously he served his elderly loved ones in their last chapters. Fritz delivered homemade lentil soup and gave transportation and company to elderly friends and relatives.

Whenever you visited Fritz in his long-time family home, classical music was always playing. He loved Bach, Beethoven, organ music, and Bing Crosby Christmas music. He was an avid reader and especially loved history books and local Spokane authors. With a robust appetite, Fritz relished dinner parties.

As Parkinsons overtook him in his last six years, Fritz never lost his sense of humor. He was a peach! Our Fritz was dearly loved, and we will miss him greatly.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Church, 2:00 p.m., on Friday, November 14th, with a reception following in O'Malley Hall. All are welcome.
