Laurel VANDERVERT Obituary

Laurel I. Vandervert (Wiley) passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022, at Sacred Heart Medical Center with her family by her side. Laurie attended Whitworth Grade School, Mead Junior High, and graduated from Mead High School in 1969. She later went on to Glen Dow Academy where she studied cosmetology. She was a loving mother to her two sons, Josh Vandervert and Joey Vandervert (Christi), granddaughter Ashlyn Vandervert, grandsons Jadan, Jakson, and Hunter Vandervert, and brother David Wiley (Marc Schermerhorn). Her family was foremost in her mind. But a close second were her friends, extended family, and dozens of who she connected with as a result of her salon business for over 40 years. We love you and will forever miss you! A celebration of Laurie's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Spokane Humane Society.

Dear Josh, Joey, and your families,

I am just heartbroken to hear of Laurie´s passing. She did mom and my hair for years. We both enjoyed knowing and visiting with her. She was a great woman and I´ll always remember her kindness. She left us much too soon.

From the MHS Class of 1969--Sincerest condolences to all of Laurie's family and friends. She was known widely in our small rural Mead High School for her quiet mischievousness and as one who held her friends close. May she AND her friends and family be at peace that she'll be remembered.
